February 2007

We started this month thinking that we may have a new baby by the end of it, but... no such luck. Her room is ready, her closet is full and I'm sick of feeling so huge! Carter seems very ready to be a big brother but won't understand really until she is actually outside of my stomach. He loves to feel her hiccups which occur about 18 times a day and is now starting to notice other babies when we are out at restaurants and stores. If they are crying he just looks at me and says, "Mommy... that baby needs a pacifier" or "Mommy... maybe we should sing that baby a song." Ty and I can't wait to see what he'll be like around his own little sister. It seems like we have talked so much about her that he doesn't really believe that she is coming. Neither does Mommy.

Tyler has been very busy with work. He has continued with academics and finally got to fly the jet on the 15th of this month. It was one of the greatest experiences he's ever had and honestly couldn't wait to get back up in the seat and do it again. He was able to get in several practice landings, fly out over the ocean and watch his airspeed indicator go over Mach 1. His biggest surprise with flying this jet was first, the size- it's about the same size as a tennis court and when you are sitting out on the very tip you literally feel like you are sitting on the end of a pencil...a very big pencil (sts) with missiles attached to each side! He was also impressed with how easy it was to land, and of course was amazed by all of its capabilities.

Carter continued with his puzzle obsession this month and is almost getting bored because he's mastered all of the ones we've bought since Christmas time. We continue to fill our days with painting, puzzles, music, doctor sessions, reading books and of course reenacting DOGFIGHTS with our airplanes. The weather started to warm up towards the end of the month, so we were also able to take our new scooter out for some cruising around the neighborhood. Next month we are going to start participating in story time at 2 libraries in the local area. Ty and I can tell that he is ready for more interaction and just needs a new element to our everyday routine.

I loved catching up with everything! I had no idea you all were having a baby (if Andy knew he forgot to tell me!) Looks like you are doing well, but have had a lot going on! Can't wait to see a photo when your little girl arrives!
