Sea World
On Thursday, we drove down to San Diego to experience a little bit of "reality." We had all been living in Fantasy land for the past three days at Disney, so it was a great getaway! They offer a wonderful military special where, once a year the active duty member and 5 of their immediate family members get in free for the day. Such a perk!
We got there about 9:30 and looked at a few of the exhibits before we attended the Dolphin Show. Immediately following that, we walked to the other side of the park (along with everyone else at Sea World) to get a prefect spot for the Shamu Show. In the middle of the trek, Whitleigh fell asleep in the stroller which we would soon have to ditch since they weren't allowed in the stadium. Ty picked her up and had no other choice but to carry her. As we were walking with the rest of the "herd" into Shamu Stadium, all of a sudden, Ty turned around and shot me a look of, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!?!?" He held Whitleigh out (still sound asleep) and she had pottied ALL down the front of him! Just soaked him from about the middle of his stomache all the way down the front on his own shorts! I couldn't help but break out in laughter :-D!!! Partially because, just that morning we had talked about how good she had been on the vacation by not having one accident the entire trip and also because, how many times have I, the Mom, been pottied on, puked on, spit at, or pooped on for that matter? I mean- come on! It was just his turn. Needless to say, he turned to my Dad and said, 'Well, I guess we are going to sit in the 'SOAK ZONE' for the show!" Such wimps.
The show was great and it made a huge impression on both the kids! It is another thing that they have talked about, all week! Whitleigh even woke up during one of her naps on the car ride home saying, "Shamu... wave... to Leigh-Leigh!" Carter has also imitated Shamu and the dolphins in the bath for the past few nights as well. We all had such a great time and it was a perfect way to end the trip!
The next morning (Friday), we woke up and checked out around 11am. We planned to make it further than Las Vegas that day, but we'd all had enough that day once we stopped there for gas and, of course, more Chiptole. So, on Saturday we finished off the long drive and finally made it home about 6:00pm that evening.
What a trip! We had such a fabulous time on our first family vacation, we hope you enjoy all the pictures and video!
