Day #1
We made it to our hotel (Paradise Pier) around 10:30am and got all checked in. Unfortunately, our rooms weren't ready for us to settle into them just yet. My parents (Papa and G) flew in from Denver and got to the resort about noon via the Disney Express or "Papa's BUS," as Whitleigh called it the entire week. We were very excited and couldn't stand it any longer so, we took off to enjoy our first day at Disney. By the time we got everything from lunch to strollers to tickets squared away, it was almost 2pm. We still made the most of the afternoon and even late into the evening. We got back to the resort around 9pm and hurried to change in our swimming suits. We knew that fireworks started at 9:25 and that we would be able to see them from our pool deck. The resort even pipped the shows music into the speakers. It was just like being there, except no crowds and we were sitting in a hot tub versus standing or sitting on pavement! It was magical!
Day#2
We woke up early enough to go and enough a really good breakfast at the hotel's restaurant PCH Grill. We were welcomed by Daisy Duck herself and then my Minnie Mouse. Lilo, Stitch and Max (Goofy's son) also joined us. It was a wonderful start to our day! We rode lots of rides, took lots of pictures, sat through a few shows and parades and ate some delicious food. Carter rode on his first ever roller coaster, Big Thunder Mountain, and Whitleigh saw her first Prince and Princess, Aladdin and Jasmine. We ended up staying very late and were so thoroughly exhausted by the time we got back to our rooms, we barely made it into our pajamas before collapsing! It... was... fabulous!
Day #3
We knew that we had to get everything done on this day such as shopping, more site seeing, repeat favorite rides and last but not least, stand in line at the Princess Fantasy Fair for Whitleigh's big moment. The wait time averages 2 hours but we got there early enough on Wednesday morning that we only had to stand for 70 minutes, I know- lucky us huh?! The funny thing was it was almost as if Whitleigh knew what was about to happen because she was so good for most of the wait. The process is this, you stand in line with your child and when it is their turn, they are welcomed into this open hallway and greeted by the first princess. There are three random princesses that they swap out throughout the day that each child gets the chance to have a one-on-one with and pictures taken with. It finally came to Whitleigh's turn and Snow White was the first princess to greet her. She almost melted into the ground. I must say, this Snow White was the most wonderful woman in the whole world. She talked to her as if she had known her for a thousand years and Whitleigh just sat in awe of her beauty! The next princess was Sleeping Beauty, which I was so thankful for because after watching the movie Whitleigh was convinced that she was still dead. Seeing her alive in all her beauty was just what our little girl needed! The final one was Mulan. Even though we haven't done much talking about her, Whitleigh was overwhelmed with her beauty and kindness. They all made such an impression on her, she is still talking about them! It was incredible to see her with them and watch her face light up the way it did. A must-see for all girls- big and small!
Of course, the guys didn't want to hang out in Princess Land while we waited, so that's when they took advantage of the train and Splash Mountain! The picture is hysterical! Carter was so proud of himself when it was all said and done. A lifelong memory, for sure!
That afternoon, we took a little pool break and then came back to the park for last minute shopping that included having our silhouettes done and of course, dinner! It was sad to say goodbye to the park but we had certainly had our fill of fun! We were so thankful for getting to experience it as a family... a trip we'll never forget!
