We had a very long, detailed talk about safety and to my surprise, she did really well with them. She worked very meticulous for over an hour! All the while, I sat at the same table with her doing my own cutting and pasting. It was fabulous.
The time passed too quickly (as usual) and before I knew it, it was time to go get Carter. I sent Whitleigh to her room to get some shoes on and then proceeded to my own room to do the same. About 3 minutes later, Whitleigh walked out of her room and was ready to go. However, I noticed she had her pink scissors stuffed in her pocket. She had a real blank look on her face but at the time didn't think anything of it.
..............UNTIL....................
I bent down to point out her "safety violation" and said, "Sweetheart, remember we don't carry scissors in our pockets. We carry them like... (gasp!) Whitleigh Jean. You have CUT your HAIR!"
She instantly bursts into tears and starts screaming, "I'm so, so sorry Mommy! I'm so, so sorry Mommy!" I had no words. I just stood there in shock and she stood there scream-balling her apologies. Once we both composed ourselves, I asked her to show me where her hair was. Sure enough, she took me right to the pile that sat in the dead center of her room.
I scolded her. (Not too hard though, guilt was eating her alive as is)
Then, I took pictures. (terrible, I know)
Then, I asked her why on earth she did it.
To this she replies, "Cause (sniff, sniff)... I had rats Mommy!"
So, thankfully the "cut" is in a very hidden part of her mop and BUT it has certainly made for some interesting hair styles over the past few days.

Gretchen - I just read this post and about died! It is absolutely hilarious! I mean, minus the actual cut hair, the pictures say it all! Atleast it wasn't her brother who did it (I speak from experience!:)) Hope it's growing back in!!
