One week later...

It wasn't an easiest week but, we all made it. Ty made it to his destination safely, along with all of the others. He has already completed his first combat mission, which went well and was successful. The kids and I managed to stay busy with miscellaneous activities. We are still trying to find a good groove. It's not that we haven't ever made it a week without him, it's just a different mind set knowing that Ty isn't going to be back anytime soon. We still have about 22 weeks to go. That's 154 more days, 4 major holidays, and two seasons. But really, who's counting?! The communication started out great and has decreased to almost nothing with each country change. That's been the toughest part. Carter has asked multiple times if we could just call Daddy. I have to explain to him that we can't and he just looks at me with total confusion. What do you mean we can't? Dad always has his cell phone on him! Big prayers are needed as far as getting internet set up soon- for the sake of ALL of us!
Yesterday, the kids and I did attend the Military Appreciation Day Parade. We were able catch up with a few other spouses and ate a good lunch that was provided by the city. We have a few activities planned this week to keep our minds busy- Tiger party, 1st soccer practice, school, MOPS and the airshow. I'll do my best to keep everyone posted.

Ty, Gretchen, Carter & Whitleigh, you are all in my prayers. I didn't realize how long Ty would be gone. Military life is not easy, but you are an amazing and blessed family. Sending you our love! The Wiggidies.
P.S. I have not tried Piesporter wine, but I've been to Piesport Village just 25 minutes from our house. There are literally hundreds of wines made at vineyards around the Mosel. I will be on the look out for Piesporter.
