Fourth of July!

We had a great holiday weekend with the cousins, my sister and her husband. The kids had been talking and preparing for this trip for several months and finally July made it and all of their dreams came true. Good ol' Uncle Ty rented a bouncy slide that inflated to about 22 feet high and 11 feet across (yes, HUGE!) and between him and Andy, they had it set up and waiting for the kids on Friday morning. The excitement was endless and as you can see in the pictures and videos, we certainly got our moneys worth! My sister and I stayed busy in the kitchen, the guys chaperoned the slide and we all were able to relax and enjoyed each others company! The kids didn't sleep or eat all that much... who had time to that when there is a 22foot slide sitting in your back yard? The fireworks show was held at the golf course, which is practically our backyard so we just turned our chairs in that direction about 10:30pm and were able to see a very good show! Whitleigh just oooo-ed and awwww-ed for the first 10 minutes. After that, she just settled into Ty's arms and fell fast asleep. Carter, Mr. Afraid-of-Most, was just baffled by the noise and the overall hugeness of the display. So, him and I watched it from inside the house through the patio doors. He couldn't exactly tell me what he was so afraid of but later asked, "what happens when the colors hit the ground?" Who knows what his little mind thinks! The Schroeder family left late Saturday afternoon and we spent the rest of the day lounging, playing SORRY! and watching movies. We played another round of family golf on Sunday afternoon (I may be getting worse!) and were going to try and make it to the Boise Hawks baseball game that evening but we found ourselves with two very exhausted kids and thought we should probably just retire home for the evening. It was such a fun weekend, we always enjoy having company and of course, having our Daddy home for four days in a row. Ty leaves for business this week down to Nevada and should be gone for 2 weeks. We will certainly be ready and anxious for his return!

Looks like you guys had a great weekend! Derek still talks about Carter's 4th of July shirt and even searched on the internet for hours looking for it, to no avail! LOL! Miss you guys and look forward to seeing you next week!
