June 2006

So after a very busy May I thought for sure that June would be fairly calm. Of course that was until I was looking at airline tickets and found one for $150 to fly Carter and I back to Wyoming for 10 days. It took a lot of sweet talk to our Daddy but finally he gave in and we got the ticket. Carter was very excited for another airplane trip. My mom, sister and her kids all came to pick us up at the airport. Carter was so excited to see his cousins! They were fairly calm most of the way home but once we got to my parents house, it was like a three-ring circus! Jackson and Carter were running all over the place, swinging from countertops, and jumping off the couches. Allyson just talked and giggled above the noise and of course Trey stood tall in his walker just grinning ear to ear! All the adults couldn't help but just stand in one place and watch all the commotion. On the third day of our vacation we went up to Casper to say with Aunt Amber and our cousins. That evening, Carter was jumping on the bed when he came down hard and either bit his lip or bumped his lip on the bed frame- anyways, all we heard was the scream and saw Carter holding his lip with blood EVERYWHERE! It was pretty bad so we called the ER to see if there was anything they would be able to do if we were to go in and of course for lips, there is nothing. He let us keep ice on it for a little bit and then went straight to bed. The next day he looked like he'd been beat-up but was no worse for the wear. Still jumping, running, kicking, punching and swinging at everything in sight. That weekend we went to Nebraska to visit Granddaddy and Grandma Janice. We were even able to see my Great Aunt Lois. Carter had a great time there; he loved Granddaddy's bell and their windmill in the back yard. I somehow got the flu over the weekend which gave my parents a very interesting car ride home. That Sunday, Carter got to go see Papa and Grandma Walsh and Uncle Thomas again. We filled the rest of our week with playing at the pool and back at Papa and G's house. It was such a nice vacation and again SO good to see everyone!

We returned right before Father's Day weekend and were very glad to see our Daddy! That weekend we traveled down to Philadelphia, MS to a new water park that just open last summer. It was so much fun! They had several different slides and parts to the park but the only three we saw were the lazy river, the wave pool and of course the kid's area! The kid's area had baby water slides, baby circle pools, water-spraying trees- just all kinds of fun water things for kids under the height of about 3 feet (and they were really strict!) Carter had to have gone down the slides 219 times, he was a maniac! He'd climb all the way to the top and then inform everyone, "Go down da lide" with a point of his finger and then scream, "WHEEE" all the way down! It was so fun to watch! We all had a lot of fun and were just a touch RED by the end of the day.

The rest of June just seemed to pick up pace as the days past. I had to start up classes again taking Clinical Biochemistry and a Vitamin & Minerals course. Also, I started watching another little boy named Alex. He was back to live with his dad who is in Tyler's flying class. Alex is going to be two at the end of July so Carter finally has a playmate. Alex had been over in Russia (where his Mom lives) since March. Carter and him get along great and keep me running all day long. Tyler is still going strong with flying. He is continuing with the formation right now and is looking to have his Formation Checkride in early July.

The last weekend in June we had the privilege to have Andy and Brooks Anderson (
http://www.brooksandrew.blogspot.com/) come and visit us. Andy went to high school with Ty and I and just recently got married to a incredible woman, Brooks! They are a match made in heaven for sure and just fit each other perfectly! She taught me how to do this "Blog Spot" thing too, so thank her! We were able to show them some true Mississippi spots which is a shock to most! It was so nice getting to have them as our guests and we hope we'll get to see them soon in Colorado Springs!

Carter kept up his obsession with Nemo and received a package from Papa and G at the end of this month with four of the characters from the movie: Bruce, Nemo, Dory and Little Squirt. They are ALL our new bedtime companions along with all four blankets and don't try and fool him by covering him with just three... trust me he knows!!
