The Birthday Girl - The BIG THREE!
The talk of Whitleigh's 3rd birthday started way back in January. From the first conversation of it, she knew exactly what she wanted and never, EVER changed her story. She wanted to have a "REAL" tea party and absolutely "NO BOYS ALLOWED! ONLY GURLS!" This of course didn't sit well with Daddy since he'd have to miss out on his princess' party and it really, really didn't sit well with her big brother who had (at the time) never thought of such a genius plan.
Both Ty and Carter worked real hard on Whitleigh to get her to ease up on the harsh BOY BAN but, had no luck. She was positively certain there would be, "No boys allowed. Only gurls!"
Over the last few months, Whitleigh and I had such a fun time dreaming and planning of everything for the her party. We searched all over this little town and found the perfect location and then started thinking of different ways to dress the place up to make every part special. From the drinks to the table lines to the shapes of the cookie favors handed out. We had a ball!
The end product was just what she (and I) had ever imagined it to be. About 22 ladies and little girls joined us for an afternoon tea on Whitleigh's birthday and each "princess" received a tea hat, gloves and pearls to wear as the dined with us "queens." The weather was fabulous so all of us even got to enjoy some time outside in the warm spring sun... honestly, it was such a wonderful day for our little girl. I was so pleased!
After saying goodbye to everyone, we undecorated and packed everything up in the car. The boys were waiting for us at home. They had decided to have a "Wii Party" at the same time as the "Tea Party." When we arrived, Whitleigh couldn't talk fast enough with all of her stories from the afternoon. Needless to say, the Mom & Me tea parties haven't been the same since. We still have them though, almost every morning after we drop Carter off at school. Have I ever mentioned how much I love my job?
Anyhow, Happy Birthday Sweetheart! We love you so much and thank God everyday the true blessing that you are! XOXO!
