The night before the kids and I were planning on driving back home to Idaho, northeastern Wyoming got hit with a pretty nasty snow, wind & ice storm. Why did this not surprise me? We had been there visiting for several weeks just hoping for a big snow storm to play in and all we got was abnormal highs and wind (of course!) Anyhow, Whitleigh was amazed by the snow fall. She just kept looking up in the sky with a look of, "where is all of this coming from?" Carter had memories of last year's snow and immediately wanted to eat and throw it! We played in it for a little bit but then wimped out and came in for some hot cocoa.
We woke up the next morning to snow, ice and -3 degree wind chill. I still decided to pack the car and get on the road just because it seemed to have only affected about an hour of our drive. Sure enough, about an hour into our trip, we hit dry roads all the way home. It was a long day of driving- almost 13 hours! A trip that I don't want to make again by myself anytime soon! Carter attended school the next morning and just had a ball! We finally have everything put away and have even managed to start decorating for Christmas. We are planning to get our tree later this afternoon with some friends and will probably stay pretty busy decorating it throughout the night. Pictures of this event to follow! Until then, enjoy the rest of your weekend!
