Christmas Vacation

After traveling through an awful blizzard, we made it to Douglas safe and sound the morning of the 22nd. We had a really great time seeing family and friends and eating our weight in delicious food! This was the first time in YEARS that we had a true "White Christmas"- it started snowing Christmas Eve and by the next morning there was about 8 inches of fresh snow on the ground and it just kept coming down. It was so fun and so beautiful! Santa made his way through the storm too. Carter and Whitleigh were certainly not forgetten! They received so many nice things- we are very blessed to have the generous friends and family that we do! The week went by very quickly and before we knew it we needed to try and re-pack the car and get on the road before the next storm came. We left on the morning of the 30th and got as far as Rock Springs, Wyoming (about 5 hours away from Douglas) and were told that the interstate was closed. We made the best out of our overnight stay and woke up early the next morning and finished the trip. Our New Year's was very uneventful... Ty stayed up to watch his new Prision Break series and I feel asleep early with the kids (as usual!) We hope everyone had great holdiays as well and wish you all a very happy 2008!
