June 2007

Our month started with news that we will be moving to Mountain Home, Idaho in August. Tyler finishes up his training here in North Carolina around the end of July and is set to graduate the first weekend of August. Shortly afterwards, we plan to have the movers come and pack our belongings so that we can start our journey out west. It's going to be an interesting road trip with two little kids across America but we have nice stops along the way getting to see friends and family. Tyler is looking forward to finally being done with school/training. These last two years have gone quick but certainly have not been easy on him. I know he is really looking forward to taking some vacation time on our way out to Idaho, he definately deserves some. The last time he was able to take any leave was Christmas of 2005. Once we all get over to Idaho he'll be entering into an Operational Squadron, meaning that he'll be eligible for deployments. He's excited to put all of his training to use but is also not looking forward to the time away from the three of us. We lay so much in the hands of the Lord and continue to pray for strength and guidance. Meanwhile, Tyler is on his second week of night flying and loving every minute of it. His class is heading out to Mountain Home the middle part of July to finish a couple of rides in a new environment. We are hoping he gets a chance to house-hunt while he's there too.

Carter had a fun filled month getting to play with all of his new birthday toys, enjoy the outdoors with his neighborhood friends and of course, cooling off at the pool. The three year old, "WHY?" questions have started so the conversations are endless when you get him going. His inside activities include playing with his cars from the movie CARS, dogfighting with his airplanes and he's really been into dot-to-dots and drawing circles lately. Tyler took him golfing for the first time this month, all 18 holes! He was so excited when he got back home because he not only got the #3 golf cart, but Daddy let him drive it too! Needless to say, we had several days filled with putting practice and chipping contests in the front yard. This month, he also got new baseball bases from his G & Papa which was another new element to the game. He caught on real quick that once he hit the ball, he had to run as fast as he could around the bases before his Daddy could tag him out. It's one sport after another with him. If he's not throwing the ball, he's kicking it or hitting it in some way.

Little Miss Whitleigh Jean has just grown leaps and bounds this month. The saying, "They grow right before your eyes," is so true! She loves to stand on your lap and be entertained by her crazy big brother. She's discovered her hands and is fascinated when they move in front of her face. We got her first giggle out of her as she stood in front of the mirror looking at herself, and have loved listening to her coo and gurgle more and more. We are still working on the pacifier and bottle issue- I'm bound and determined to have her taking one of them by the time we leave here. We are starting to get on a better schedule. She only wakes up once during the night, which really helps me out!

Our July is going to be pretty busy, the kids and I are planning a trip out to Wyoming to visit everyone around the same time that Ty is going to be gone. Once we get back, we'll be finalizing moving plans and enjoy the rest of our time here in North Carolina. We'll be sure to update you again next month- HUGS!
